Town of Paris Plan Commission

 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a Public Hearing will be conducted by the Town of Paris Plan Commission on Monday, February 19th, 2018, beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the Town of Paris Safety Building, 16607 Burlington Road, Union Grove Wisconsin 53182 to consider a proposed amendment to the Land Use Plan Map for the Town of Paris of the Comprehensive Plan for Kenosha County.  The purpose of the public hearing is to accept public comment on the proposed amendment.

 

An application has been filed with Kenosha County and the Town of Paris by Alice Daly, 2503 176th Ave (owner) and Charles Terry, 21202 15th Street (agent) requesting an amendment to the Adopted Land Use Plan map for Kenosha County: 2035 (map 65 of the comprehensive plan) from “Farmland Protection” to “Farmland Protection” & “Suburban-Density Residential” on Tax Parcel #45-4-221-214-0400 located in the east ½ of Section 21, T.2N – R.21E in the Town of Paris.  The purpose of the amendment is to allow the creation of a 2.79-acre vacant parcel to be used for the construction of a single-family home.

 

During the Public Hearing, the public is invited to speak on the application.  Written comments can be submitted to the Town Clerk prior to the meeting and shall become part of the record.  The Public Hearing shall be closed when all interested parties in attendance have had a chance to offer comment.

 

Upon the close of the Public Hearing, a meeting of the Town of Paris Plan Commission shall be called to order and the application shall be addressed per the agenda.

  • Discussion and possible resolution on a proposed Comprehensive Plan Amendment. An application has been filed with Kenosha County and the Town of Paris by Alice Daly, 2503 176th Ave (owner) and Charles Terry, 21202 15th Street (agent) requesting an amendment to the Adopted Land Use Plan map for Kenosha County: 2035 (map 65 of the comprehensive plan) from “Farmland Protection” to “Farmland Protection” & “Suburban-Density Residential” on Tax Parcel #45-4-221-214-0400 located in the east ½ of Section 21, T.2N – R.21E in the Town of Paris.

 

  • Petition from Alice Daly (owner) and Charles Terry (agent) to rezone a portion of Tax Parcel #45-4-221-214-0400 from A-1 (Farmland Protection) to R-2 (Suburban Single-Family district). The property is located on 176th Ave in the Town of Paris.  The purpose of the rezoning is to allow the creation of a 2.79-acre parcel for the purpose of building a single-family home.

 

  • Recommendation to Paris Town Board on approval of a Certified Survey Map proposed by Alice Daly and Charles Terry for a 2.79-acre parcel to be divided from Tax Parcel #45-4-221-214-0400, in the Town of Paris.

 

  • Discussion of updates of proposed Paris Land Division Ordinance and possible recommendation to the Town Board for adoption.

 

  • Discussion and possible recommendation to the Town Board to adopt an amendment to the Town of Paris Code of Ordinances, specifically Subsection 2-24 (n) relating to Plan Commission filing deadlines, changing the minimum filing deadline to “not less than 30 (thirty) days prior to the plan commission meeting”. Current deadline is 9 (nine) days.  The intent of the change is to reflect the need for additional time for staff review and communication prior to plan commission deliberations.

 

  • Updates on Town Planning Staff activities. May include:
  • Solar electric arrays
  • County ordinance amendments
  • Landowner inquiries
  • Planning projects

Please note – Members of the Paris Town Board in numbers sufficient to create a quorum of that board may be in attendance at the Public Hearing and Plan Commission Meeting.  Those members not on the Plan Commission will be attending to gather information.  No action by the Town Board shall be taken at these meetings.
