Pursuant to s.70.45, Wis. Stats., the Town of Paris assessment roll for the year 2017 assessment will be open for examination on the second day of May, 2017 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm, at the Town of Paris Safety Building, 16607 Burlington Road, Union Grove, WI (262)859-3006.

Please make an appointment if you wish to discuss your property assessment on the above mentioned day with the Town Assessor.  Call 262-859-3006 to schedule an appointment.

Instructional material about the assessment, how to file an objection, and board of review procedures under Wisconsin law will be available at that time.

Town of Paris Plan Commission

 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a Public Hearing will be conducted by the Town of Paris Plan Commission on Monday, April 17, 2017, beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the Town of Paris Safety Building, 16607 Burlington Road, Union Grove Wisconsin 53182 to consider a proposed amendment to the Land Use Plan Map for the Town of Paris of the Comprehensive Plan for Kenosha County.  The purpose of the public hearing is to accept public comment on the proposed amendment.

An application has been filed with Kenosha County and the Town of Paris by the Richard J Schaefer Revocable Trust, 15509 12th St., Kenosha, WI 53144-4301 (Owner), Amanda Arizmendi, 15509 12th St., Kenosha, WI 53144 (Agent), requesting an amendment to the Adopted Land Use Plan map for Kenosha County: 2035 (map 65 of the comprehensive plan) from “Farmland Protection” to “Farmland Protection” & “Suburban-Density Residential” on Tax Parcel #45-4-221-142-0200 located in the NW ¼ of Section 14, T2N, R21E, Town of Paris

During the Public Hearing, the public is invited to speak on the application.  Written comments can be submitted to the Town Clerk prior to the meeting and shall become part of the record.  The Public Hearing shall be closed when all interested parties in attendance have had a chance to offer comment.

Upon the close of the Public Hearing, a meeting of the Town of Paris Plan Commission shall be called to order.

  7. Richard J Schaefer Revocable Trust, 15509 12th St., Kenosha, WI 53144-4301 (Owner), Amanda Arizmendi, 15509 12th St., Kenosha, WI 53144 (Agent), is requesting approval of a Certified Survey Map to create one (1) 2.58-acre parcel and one (1) 38.1-acre parcel from Tax Parcel #45-4-221-142-0200.

Petition from Brian Strane, 15318 12th Street, Kenosha WI  53144, requesting a variance to allow the construction of a 40’ x 60’ (2,400 square feet) detached accessory building in a C-2 Upland Conservancy district on Parcel #45-4-221-104-0430.  The district allows a maximum of 1,800 square feet.

Please note – Members of the Paris Town Board in numbers sufficient to create a quorum of that board may be in attendance at the Public Hearing and Plan Commission Meeting.  Those members not on the Plan Commission will be attending to gather information.  No action by the Town Board shall be taken at these meetings.

Special Town Board Meeting

Monday, April 13, 2017          3:30 p.m.

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Town Board of the Town of Paris will hold a Special Meeting on Monday, April 13, 2017 at 3:30 pm at the Paris Town Hall, 16607 Burlington Road, Union Grove, WI 53182, for the following:

  1. The Town Board will take up a motion to go into CLOSED SESSION, pursuant to Wis. Stat. Sections 19.85(1)(e) and (g), for the purpose of conducting public business, whenever competitive or bargaining reasons require a closed session, and to confer with legal counsel for the Town who is rendering oral or written advice concerning strategy to be adopted by the body with respect to the following litigation in which it is or is likely to become involved: (1) Kolnik, et al. v. Village of Somers, et al., Kenosha County Circuit Court, Case # 2016-CV-000480; (2) Contested case hearing before the Department of Natural Resources (“DNR”) and Petition for Judicial Review of DNR decision; Kenosha County Circuit Court, Case # 2016-CV-908; and (3) status of discussions/negotiations on intergovernmental agreements.
  2. The Town Board shall RECONVENE INTO OPEN SESSION to take possible action on the item(s) discussed during the CLOSED SESSION.
  3. Adjourn.

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that there will be a joint meeting of the Kenosha/Racine County Units of Wisconsin Towns Association on the evening of Thursday, April 6, 2017 at 7:00 p.m.  The meeting will be held at the Town of Norway, 6419 Heg Park Road, Wind Lake, WI  53185.

Speaker:  Rich Manthe, WTA Legal Counsel, will discuss “Powers of the Annual Town Meeting – Authorizations to the Town Board”.  Agenda also includes follow up to WTA major legislative issues and elections PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that there will be a joint meeting of the Kenosha/Racine County Units of will be held.
